About Paul Henderson - NHL Legend and Sports Speaker:

Few words send chills down the spines of Canadians like the words uttered by legendary hockey broadcaster Foster Hewitt one winter day in 1972: Henderson scores! Since then, the man who scored the goal heard from coast to coast, Paul Henderson, has become a Canadian legend.

Today Paul Henderson is a highly sought after motivational speaker - his messages about leadership, teamwork, commitment and achieving goals inspiring and motivating corporate audiences across the country. Paul uses the lessons he learned during his 18-year professional hockey career to motivate organizations around the world to reach their own goals. Paul begins his presentation with a brief video reliving the rush, glory and heart-pounding excitement of the '72 series, and goes on to share a behind the scenes look at NHL strategies, accompanied by innovative insight and humorous anecdotes. Paul correlates his own experiences to today's competitive business environment.

Currently Paul is President of The Leadership Group, an organization he founded in 1984, which is devoted to the development of people for leadership. He is also very active in community groups such as Muskoka Woods Sports Camp and Teen Ranch and is a spokesperson for The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. In 1998, Paul received the Ontario Special Achievement Award for his contribution to minor hockey. More recently, in 2002, Paul was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Award for distinguished community service.

In addition to his involvement with The Leadership Group and the community, Paul is author of two books, The Fans Go Wild and Shooting for Glory. He is presently writing his third.

Paul is the only living person to be depicted on a Canadian Mint coin, and has also been depicted on a Canada Post postage stamp.
