What Greg Autry Talks About:
The Economy and Investing – Forecasting the business cycle for fun and profit$
Greg Autry's interactive economic forecasting session offers insights and advice for businesses and individuals. In this talk he takes a look at what's happening in a variety of markets from a national and global perspective and then works with the audience to step through the likely the economic outcomes for the short, mid, and long range in North America, Europe, and Asia. Greg puts special emphasis on the economies of China, Canada, Japan, and the U.S. Since forecasts must live in the real world, he also shows how to understand the interaction of long term demographic trends with daily news events and thus make it possible for the executive or investor to tell when the forecast is still on track
and when some unexpected circumstance necessitates a re-adjustment. Investors will find this information invaluable when considering markets from stocks to commodities to real estate. Finally using his experience teach business strategy courses he ties the economic information into concrete suggestions for surviving and exploiting good times and bad.
China – Death by China: Economics, Policy, Human Rights and corporate China Risk
China is a topic that needs to be on the agenda of every business, investor, and citizen of the world. Greg Autry has recently spoken on this issue at panels in the U.S. Congress, the Canadian Parliament, and the National Press club in Washington. Sharing years of research and writing on China's not always peaceful rise, he offers a serious reality check for those eager to go all in
in China's dynamic but extremely risky business and investment environment. At some level China presents a serious challenge to every Western government , business, and even individual citizen. The fortunes of national economies, corporate profits, and everyone's job are at stake. Understanding how the inner workings of the corrupt Communist Party in Beijing suppress domestic dissent, tie up global resources, conquer foreign markets, and threaten China's neighbors is key to surviving in the Dragon's century. Greg is the co-author (with Peter Navarro) of this year's China Policy bestseller, Death by China, a book that presents a stark contrast to the likes of Kissinger's On China
and many business books that naively assume all will be will with the Middle Kingdom.
Space – Commercial Space, America’s Secret Weapon
The U.S. Space program has been floundering since the end of the Apollo era and currently has no capability to place a man into orbit without buying a ride from the Russians. The Shuttle's replacement vehicle has been canceled by the Obama administration and the President and Congress remain at odds on how to proceed. Meanwhile, out on the high-deserts of California and New Mexico a new breed of entrepreneur is looking skyward. Mr. Autry has been studying and writing on America's space entrepreneurs for years and will take audiences on an exciting ride – with exclusive photos into a dazzling new business that includes Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites, Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic, and Elon Musk's SpaceX corporation.
