About Walter J. Schneider - Business Leadership Speaker:
Walter J. Schneider is co-founder of RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada Inc. He presently serves as President of RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada Inc., RE/MAX of New England Inc., RE/MAX North Central Inc., RE/MAX Indiana Limited Partnership, PMSC Real Estate Franchising Inc. (RE/MAX Europe), Polzler and Schneider Holdings Corporation and Integra Enterprises Corporation.
Walter Schneider has been actively involved in real estate for nearly 35 years. After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto, Mr. Schneider entered the real estate business as a recruiter-trainer for Mississauga-based Polzler Real Estate in 1976. In 1980, he co-founded RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada Inc. with partner, Frank J. Polzler. With little capital to facilitate expansion, Mr. Schneider and Mr. Polzler fostered the exponential growth of RE/MAX—from a two-man operation—to an international enterprise unparalleled by its competitors.
Mr. Schneider and Mr. Polzler took their success even further, introducing RE/MAX to international markets. Between 1986 and 1993, they went on to acquire franchise rights to RE/MAX in nine U.S. states. They purchased the master rights to RE/MAX in Europe in 1994, and later opened the company’s European headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. To date, Mr. Schneider and Mr. Polzler have sold franchises in 35 countries in Europe. Their work in the real estate industry has been a conduit for related ventures in the financial industry, real estate development in Canada and the U.S. and global franchising.
Mr. Schneider continues to pursue new endeavors with RE/MAX and his list of accomplishments continues to mount. It includes: market dominance in Canada, with RE/MAX holding three times the market share of its nearest competitor, four major North American operations in Toronto, Ontario; Boston, Massachusetts; Indianapolis, Indiana; and Minneapolis, Minnesota; co-founding of ipromoteu a Boston based promotional products firm operating in 15 States, nearly 1,700 RE/MAX franchised outlets and over $1.25 billion in commissions.
Considered a leader and an innovator in the real estate industry, Mr. Schneider—together with partner Frank Polzler—is currently leading plans for further expansion of RE/MAX throughout Europe.
